We hold classes all week with the exception of Sunday. Here at SSD we pride ourselves on not only becoming your dance studio but your dance family!

All of SSD's current students and alumni are taught to have a strong foundation not only in dance but life as well. All of our students have gone on to do great things in and out of the dance industry! The studio offers a strong curriculum in dance and creative movement and that helps the dancers build skills that will last a lifetime. SSD offers many different dance styles for various age groups including: Ballet, Hip-Hop, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Rhythmic Acro, Lyrical Acro, Tumbling, Combo Classes specialty classes such as "Jump, Leaps & Turns" and "Technique, Strength & Conditioning".
Starr's focus shifted to her acting career when living in New York City. She appeared in hit television shows including Gossip Girl, The Beautiful Life and Rescue Me, among others. Trained in acting by the famous Neighborhood Playhouse Drama School in NYC, Starr is an active member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and AFTRA. She is also a substitute teacher on file at Broadway Dance Center. Her acting career took her on a constant loop from Boston, to New York, and back again. She finally settled in Connecticut working at local studios in Brookfield and New Milford, and eventually starting her own studio in Kent.
In 2013, Starr accomplished her goal and achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Post University. She has decided to continue her education by pursuing a Masters at Post University. Starr believes that education is very important in the dancers everyday lives and makes a point of personally checking and reviewing each company members grades to make sure they are on track with their education.
Starr's Studio of dance has been opened for eight years now and Starr is adamant about her teachers as well as herself not teaching in a style that they are not personally versed in. This means that the students will get the best training possible! Starr's vision for the program is to continue in the tradition of her Alabama home studio, building an outstanding competition program in the area of Kent, CT. She is excited to start this journey and welcome you into the SSD Family!
